How to play
Find today's mystery New Zealand Test player in 8 guesses. A new player arrives every day at midnight, New Zealand time.
Type at least 2 letters of a name and pick a player from the list. Each guess shows how that player compares with the answer, one tile per clue.
The tiles
Each tile is correct (โ), close (~) or wrong. An arrow on a number means the answer's is higher (โ) or lower (โ). A "?" means a value isn't known, and it counts neither way. Tap a tile in the game to see what it means.
- Position: Correct means the same position; close means the same half of the team (forwards or backs).
- Born: Correct means an exact match; close means within 2 years.
- Debut: Correct means an exact match; close means within 2 years.
- Caps: Correct means within 2; close means within 12.
- Tries: Correct means an exact match; close means within 3.
- Height: Correct means within 1 cm; close means within 5 cm.
- Club: Correct means the same club; close means the answer once played for this club.
Hints
After 4 guesses you can reveal the answer's position, and after 6 guesses their club. A hint doesn't use a guess, but it adds 1 to your score.
Your result
Your result shows the guesses you used, such as 5/8, with a ๐ก for each hint. Running out of guesses shows X/8. Any win ranks above any loss, and fewer guesses and hints rank higher.
Sharing
Share your grid when you finish. It shows only coloured squares, never names or values, so it won't spoil the answer for anyone.
